Asbury Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit based in Frederick, Maryland, that secures charitable gifts for Asbury communities and affiliated services across Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Tennessee. Formed in 1994, the foundation funds benevolent care, resident-focused programs, capital projects, associate education, innovation, and other priorities that enhance quality of life across the Asbury system.
What They Do
Asbury Foundation helps donors direct their generosity toward programs and needs across Asbury communities. Its work centers on benevolent care for eligible residents who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own, allowing them to remain in their Asbury homes with dignity and greater peace of mind. Benevolent care usually covers housing, medical, dental, and other necessary expenses based on each resident’s needs and community guidelines.
The foundation also funds projects and programs that improve daily life for residents. These include wellness programs, life-enrichment opportunities, technology initiatives, community improvements, capital enhancements, and other resident-centered priorities across Asbury campuses. Its strategic focus areas include Benevolent Care, Capital Projects, Associate Education, Innovation, Special Programs, and the Asbury General Fund.
Associate education is another crucial part of the foundation’s work. Scholarship funds and educational assistance give Asbury team members more ways to advance their careers, strengthen their skills, and continue serving residents in senior living, healthcare, and related fields.
In 2023, with the backing of the foundation, Asbury Communities dispersed more than $4.1 million in benevolent care across its continuing care retirement communities.
