Ukraine Defense Support is an all-volunteer nonprofit based in Puget Sound that provides humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and life-saving non-lethal equipment to people in Ukraine. The organization was founded in 2022 by Carl Larson and other Seattleites to help Ukrainian defenders, medics, frontline volunteers, and civilians facing the ongoing effects of Russia’s invasion.
What They Do
Ukraine Defense Support works to meet urgent needs in Ukraine by raising funds, purchasing supplies, and delivering aid where it is needed most. Its efforts provide medical supplies, protective equipment, winter clothing, generators, communication tools, evacuation vehicle repairs, and other non-lethal resources used in frontline and emergency situations.
The organization’s General Purpose Fund allows volunteers to respond quickly when needs change. Recent and active project areas include power support for Ukraine, medical and emergency supplies, protective equipment, and other critical resources requested by people working on the ground. Monthly giving also helps UDS plan for larger projects while keeping flexibility for urgent requests.
Ukraine Defense Support is powered entirely by unpaid volunteers, which allows donations to go directly toward aid. Its materials are also clear that the organization does not purchase, transport, or handle military weapons. That distinction matters for donors who want to fund humanitarian and protective support without contributing to weapons procurement.
The organization also raises awareness about the war in Ukraine, brings supporters together through events and campaigns, and maintains updates on aid efforts through its blog, social media, and community outreach.
Ukraine Defense Support is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with Tax ID 92-2693929. For more information about its aid projects, volunteer work, financials, events, and donation options, head over to their official website.
Your Donation
When you donate your vehicle, you fund supplies that help protect lives and keep frontline aid efforts moving. Your gift goes toward first-aid materials, emergency medical gear, cold-weather support, power equipment, radios, vehicle repairs, protective equipment, and other non-lethal resources requested by people in Ukraine.
That support keeps essential equipment operating during outages and ensures evacuation vehicles remain available when Ukrainians need to be moved to safety.
NCS Vehicle Donations sends the proceeds directly to Ukraine Defense Support. Pickup is completely free, and your contribution is 100% tax deductible.
