The Animal Rescue Center of California, also known as The ARC of CA, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving stray, abandoned, and unwanted dogs in the Coachella Valley. Since its start in 2020, the organization has been rescuing dogs from the streets, providing care while they wait for adoption, and building stronger resources for low-income dog owners and abandoned pets in the underserved eastern end of the valley.

What They Do

The Animal Rescue Center of California rescues homeless dogs, provides basic and medical care, and works to place them with loving permanent families. Its work responds to a need that grew after the 2008 housing crisis, when more pets were left behind as families lost homes.

Every dog available for adoption receives vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter surgery, food, supplies, and necessary medical attention. Prospective adopters submit an application so the rescue can match each dog with a suitable home. In its latest reported program figures, The ARC of CA reported rescuing more than 137 dogs and finding adoptive homes for 84.

The nonprofit also offers practical resources for people who find stray dogs or need affordable pet care. Its website explains how to check for microchips, post found-pet notices, contact shelters and rescues, and locate veterinary care, urgent care, low-cost spay/neuter services, and vaccinations in the Coachella Valley.

The organization’s long-term goal is to develop an animal campus in the eastern Coachella Valley where rescued animals can stay while awaiting adoption. The ARC of CA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 85-2575862; visit its official website for adoptable dogs, foster opportunities, donation needs, and local pet resources.

Your Donation

Your vehicle becomes funding for the care dogs need before they are ready for new homes. Proceeds cover rescue efforts, medical attention, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchips, food, foster support, adoption supplies, and resources that give stray and abandoned dogs a better chance at stability.

NCS Vehicle Donations sends the proceeds to The Animal Rescue Center of California directly. Pickup is free, and your donation is 100% tax deductible.
