Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Inc. is a Springfield-based nonprofit that provides employment services, skills development, work opportunities, and community programs across central Illinois and western Indiana. Founded in 1938, the organization now serves a 37-county territory through retail operations, career centers, youth programming, adult services, and training programs.
What Land of Lincoln Goodwill Does
Land of Lincoln Goodwill removes barriers that make employment, independence, and community participation harder to reach. Its free Career Development Services offer resume preparation, job search guidance, interview practice, digital skills training, computer classes, and one-on-one coaching for people entering the workforce, returning to work, or changing careers.
The organization also provides vocational training and Community Day Services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These programs help participants strengthen daily living and workplace skills while becoming more independent at work and in the community.
Its Veterans Employment program gives U.S. military veterans in central Illinois free career coaching, skills assessments, training, job search guidance, and employer connections. Youth Services supports young people in Springfield and Jacksonville through mentoring, tutoring, career readiness, college exposure, and structured after-school activities. In 2024, the program served 136 youths.
