Palisades Village is committed to providing meaningful services and activities to promote independence, physical and mental health, safety, social engagement, education, and cultural enrichment of its older adult residents in Berkley, Foxhall, Kent, Palisades, Spring Valley, and Wesley Heights.
Palisades Village is a Washington, DC nonprofit that helps older adults live independently, comfortably, and safely in their own homes. Founded in 2007 and officially operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2009, the organization serves residents in Berkley, Foxhall, Kent, Palisades, Spring Valley, and Wesley Heights.
Palisades Village aims to help older adults remain active and independent in their community. Staff and volunteers provide transportation, run errands, assist with household tasks and technology, offer friendly visits, and connect members with trusted local services and tradespeople.
The organization also hosts activities that keep members connected and engaged. These include wellness programs, fitness classes, yoga, health clinics, social gatherings, lecture series, educational talks, cultural outings, book clubs, cooking groups, support groups, holiday meals, and other community events.
Palisades Village has almost 300 members and more than 200 volunteers, with members ranging in age from 50 to over 100. Its service area covers adjacent Northwest DC neighborhoods, including Berkley, Foxhall, Kent, Palisades, Spring Valley, and Wesley Heights.
