Planned PEThood of Georgia is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable veterinary care and works to reduce pet overpopulation. Founded in 2010 and based in Duluth, it serves pets and families across Metro Atlanta and Northeast Georgia. Its work includes preventive veterinary services, efforts to reduce unwanted litters, and finding homes for rescued cats and dogs.
Planned PEThood of Georgia operates a Duluth clinic offering low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, wellness exams, and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. These services give families more affordable options for routine veterinary care.
The organization also runs a trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) program for community cats to control outdoor cat populations. Through its rescue, foster, and adoption program, cats and kittens receive veterinary treatment, vaccinations, and temporary foster care until they find suitable homes.
Planned PEThood organizes free community clinics offering rabies vaccinations, distemper vaccines for dogs and cats, microchipping, and flea and tick prevention. Its FIDO mobile spay/neuter program brings affordable surgeries to communities where veterinary costs, transportation, and limited local services create barriers to care.
According to its Q1 2026 Impact Report, the organization completed 2,269 affordable spay/neuter surgeries between January and March 2026. During the same period, it provided 3,201 wellness appointments at its Duluth clinic and served 463 pets through free vaccination clinics in Jackson and White counties.
Planned PEThood of Georgia operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the legal name Planned PEThood of Georgia, Inc. (Tax ID 90-0516757). Learn more about its programs at pethoodga.org.
