The organization focuses on helping veterans access earned benefits, healthcare resources, employment support, and community connections after military service.
What They Do
AMVETS Department of New Jersey (Tax ID: 47-2204741) provides direct support services to veterans statewide as they navigate challenges that often persist after returning home from military service.
Each year, the organization assists veterans statewide with VA healthcare enrollment, benefits claims, and obtaining military service records such as DD-214 documentation. These services are offered free of charge to veterans regardless of background or branch of service.
Employment assistance is another important part of the organization’s work. Through its job bank resources, AMVETS helps veterans and transitioning service members connect with civilian employment opportunities and workforce support. The organization also advocates for suicide prevention awareness and works to strengthen social connections among veterans through peer support and community engagement.
