House of Mercy is a Manassas-based nonprofit that provides food, clothing, client services, and other basic necessities for people and families facing hardship in Northern Virginia. Founded in 2005, the organization grew from a prayer ministry into a community resource centered on dignity, practical assistance, and spiritual care.
What They Do
House of Mercy serves local residents through a food pantry, client services, thrift store, and donation center. Its pantry and client services are open during the week, while the thrift store and donation center help generate support for the organization’s basic-needs work.
The organization provides free food, clothing, and related assistance to people who come through its doors, with a focus on serving families and individuals without restricting help by geography or background. Its work includes meeting immediate needs while also creating space for personal and spiritual growth.
House of Mercy reports serving more than 100 families each day through its food pantry and related community services. Recent donor information from the organization also notes support for more than 400 children through its Back to School program and over 1,300 children through its Christmas with Mercy celebration.
