The Ukrainian American Coordinating Council, also known as UACC, is a Ukrainian-American nonprofit that brings community members, partners, volunteers, and organizations together in support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora. Since the early 1960s, UACC has worked with partners nationally and internationally to strengthen Ukrainian-American communities and encourage coordinated action around cultural, humanitarian, business, and civic priorities.
What They Do
UACC’s work is organized around several connected areas. Its cultural affairs efforts promote Ukrainian culture and encourage members of the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States to participate in community life, public events, commemorations, and shared traditions. The group’s events and outreach include opportunities connected to Ukraine’s Independence Day, Holodomor remembrance, Shevchenko, holidays, dance groups, and other cultural programs.
Business affairs are another part of UACC’s work. Through the Ukrainian Hub, UACC supports Ukrainian entrepreneurs with educational programs, opportunities, and community connections that strengthen professional networks and encourage Ukrainian-led business activity.
Humanitarian aid remains a major focus, especially since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. UACC partners with organizations, fundraisers, volunteers, and community supporters to direct resources toward Ukraine-focused needs. Its wartime response has also included efforts to obtain regulated equipment through proper licensing channels for civilian defense and emergency support.
UACC’s political affairs work centers on promoting the Ukrainian-American agenda with government agencies, public officials, and community partners in the United States. Through these cultural, business, humanitarian, and advocacy efforts, UACC works to keep Ukrainian-American communities united, visible, and active.
